![]() ![]() The bulk of the reviews here on Tripadvisor are proof of that. Our “limited breakfast” is exactly as advertised on our website: “A nice continental breakfast including, 3 proteins, 5-7 fruits, 2-3 breads, coffee, tea and juice.” We do not believe there is any other establishment that provides better service - that is clean, well located, with lovely design touches, beautiful public areas, a heated swimming pool and a large floral garden, and is VERY AFFORDABLE!! In sum, we are saddened and disappointed by the claims of this review but are steadfast in our continuing commitment to offer The Gaslight Inn as one of the best places to stay in Seattle. During our 32 years in business, the majority of our clientele are returning guests who state they return because of the fact they feel like they are “coming home” as they love the house and all of its amenities, including the many personal services we provide. ![]() There is a staff member in the house (or can be reached by personal phone) at all times for any special needs or emergencies. Our check-in time is from 3 pm – 6 pm and we accommodate early check-ins as well as late arrivals for any guests who request that service. The statement that “service is only available for short windows” is also incorrect. We answer as many calls as humanly possible while attending to all the daily details of a busy Inn and return any call requests at the end of each day, if not before. We are a small family-owned business with only one Innkeeper and one additional staff, Thus, we do not have a dedicated office manager. Callers may leave a message for a call back, if they need further assistance. We have a very nice outgoing message on our answering machine that directs callers to our website where they can find information to answer their questions, immediately see availability and book a room. We appreciate the five stars for cleanliness and affordability as well as the comments that “the Gaslight Inn is well located with some beautiful public areas and lovely design touches.” However, we’re very taken aback by the statement that “management appears to screen phone calls via an answering machine” - it is completely incorrect. I definitely recommend this B&B to anyone looking for a good and affordable place to stay while visiting Seattle. Moreover, it's situated in a nice neighborhood that we had fun exploring and it's close enough to downtown and other parts of Seattle that are of interest to many visitors. It's nice that there was no 2-night minimum, and the rate was affordable compared to many other places in Seattle. We didn't get a chance to try out the pool since we were out most of the evening that we were there, but it looked like a great place to hang out, particularly on a warm day. But that's part of staying in an older charming house, and we ended up being able to sleep pretty well despite the heat. There was an AC in the room, but an old-fashioned one that's quite noisy, so not very practical to use at night. Our room was comfortable except for being extremely warm since we visited during a hot spell. We spent one night at Gaslight Inn during our trip in Seattle and enjoyed our stay there. ![]()
